A 23-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries after police said he was shot in the hip on Friday night in Hamden.
Officers were called to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Arch Street around 11:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers said they located an unidentified man suffering from a gunshot wound on the stairs of a home on Arch Street. The man was rushed to Yale – New Haven Hospital, police said.
Before the shooting, police learned that a group of men were arguing with another group of men, who were in a motor vehicle.
The group of men not in the car ran southbound on Fairview Avenue following the shooting.
