Man dead after being found in crawl space in Rocky Hill

Posted: Updated:

A man is dead after being located in a crawl space at a shopping plaza in Rocky Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

The man's body was located above a dentist's office at 80 Town Line Rd. around 2:45 p.m.

Police said they received a medical call where a male contracted worker was working in a small enclosed crawl space, but the caller said he was un-responsive. It is unclear what type of work the man was doing at the time of his death.

Upon arrival, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The man's name was not released by police.

Due to the hot weather on Wednesday, crews had to cut a hole in the roof to allow air for first responders.

Employees at the plaza said a crew from Barlo Signs was at the shopping plaza on Wednesday to replace a sign. They didn’t know anything was wrong until emergency crews responded to the scene.

The cause of death remains under investigation. The Rocky Hill Police Department Detective Division are investigating the incident.
