Bristol woman struck by suspected drunk driver

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

A Bristol woman was severely injured after being struck by a suspected drunk driver late Thursday night. 

According to police, 50-year-old Joyce Reagan-Walsh suffered a serious head injury was she was struck by a car that police said was driven by 21-year-old Marissa Rosner of Windsor. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Mercury Sable was traveling east on Pine Street at Emmett Street and collided with Reagan-Walsh.

Investigators explained that she was crossing Pine Street in the area of a Valero Gas Station at the time of the crash.   

Reagan-Walsh was transported to an area trauma unit for treatment. During the course of the investigation, Rosner was arrested for DUI. 

The accident remains under investigation.  Eyewitnesses are asked to call the Bristol Police Department at 860-584-3032.
