Several Connecticut cities are among the worst in the country for first-time home buyers, according to a new survey.
The personal finance website WalletHub ranked the country's best and worst cities for people looking to buy their first home.
Out of the 300 cities WalletHub examined, Hartford ranked toward the end of the list at 272.
Its "housing affordability" rank was 274, its "real estate market" rank was 134 and its "living environment" rank was 278.

WalletHub said it determined the cities' market attractiveness by looking at 18 key metrics, including housing costs, real-estate taxes and property crime rates.
The top three best cities for first-time home buyers were Overland Park, KS, Allen, TX and Centennial, CO.
The worst were Compton, CA, Richmond, CA and Miami Beach, FL.
