A Taste of Hartford kicked off on Monday and some of the best restaurants in the capital city were offering special menus for the promotion.
At Max Downtown, they were chopping, peeling and prepping, getting everything ready for day one of a Taste of Hartford. Executive Chef Chris Sheehan said he loves restaurant weeks because it is a chance to show some of their best offerings and to hopefully meet new and future customers.
“It brings in people that normally wouldn't come into Hartford and shows them that it's a great place to come and eat and eat their supper and come into the city and make Hartford alive,” Sheehan said.
At Trumbull Kitchen, regulars such as Carl Perugini and Steven Hounchell love Taste of Hartford because they can go to their favorite place as well as test out some new places.
“The prix fixe menu is what I like. So we'll be celebrating it all week cause we work downtown,” Perugini said.
The following restaurants are participating in the Taste of Hartford:
"The great thing about restaurant week is you can go to a restaurant and they usually have diverse items on the menu so you can get to try a few different things for a good price,” Hounchell said.
A Taste of Hartford started on Monday and goes until July 31.
