TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

One of two suspects accused of invading a home in Torrington and sexually assaulting a victim was arrested by police.

Officers said Hillary D. Combs, 46, of Norwich, was taken into custody on Tuesday.

They said Combs and another man forced their way into a home on Pearl Street Sunday.

The suspects assaulted the victim and stole several items, according to police.

Detectives processed the scene, seized evidence and canvassed the area.

They said suspects were developed based on information from the victim and additional interviews.

Combs was arrested in Norwich.

Police said they charged him with home invasion, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, first-degree sexual assault and first-degree attempted sexual assault.

Combs was held on a court-set bond of $350,000 and given a court date of Wednesday in Bantam Superior Court.

Police said the investigation remains open and additional arrests are expected.

The unnamed second suspect was said to be incarcerated already on unrelated charges.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Torrington police Det. Kyle Johnson 860-489-2038 or Sgt. Brett Johnson 860-489-2051.
