WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) -

State police said they arrested a convicted felon after a bullet was found in a vehicle seized as part of an attempted murder investigation.

Ernest Kinsler, 28, of Canterbury, was arrested on Tuesday.

Troopers said they found Kinsler and his vehicle. They wanted to search the vehicle in connection with the attempted murder that happened on April 6 in Mansfield.

During the search, detectives said they found a bullet.

Kinsler is said to be a convicted felon from previous cases, which makes it illegal for him to possess any ammunition.

He was arrested and charged with criminal possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

He was held in lieu of $100,000 bond and scheduled to face a judge in Danielson.

The attempted murder back in April led to the arrest of three people.

State police said they responded to a 911 call about a disturbance in a driveway on Spring Hill Road in Mansfield.

By the time they arrived, they said most of the people there had left and those who remained were uncooperative.

After troopers cleared the scene, they said Windham Hospital notified them that a woman arrived there with a gunshot laceration to the head. Hospital staff said the incident happened on Spring Hill Road.

Troopers said they returned to the scene and seized evidence.

Michelle Martinez, 47, of Willimantic, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Maria Fiasconaro, 28, of Mansfield, was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

Daila Acosta-Santiago, 34, of Willimantic, was also charged with first-degree assault and second-degree beach of peace.

Their arrest photos can be seen here.
