MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police ramped up patrols near a summer spot in Milford after a man had exposed himself to a group of young girls earlier this week.

Investigators want the public's help identifying the man who allegedly exposed himself to several teenage beach-goers at Anchor Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday, parents told Eyewitness News they are keeping a vigilant eye on the children after the incident.

“I guess they think 'peace, love and understanding and this is my body and I'm OK with it,'” beach goer Terri Downing said. “But, I don't think it's appropriate at all.”

Parents said the teens were thinking on their feet and snapped photos of the suspect. When the man realized what they were doing, police said he took off on a mountain bike with silver handle bars.

Police said the suspect headed towards Kings Highway. A portion of that bike was also captured in the photo released by police.

“I hope their parents taught them it was smart of them to take pictures, so that they could show it to their parents,” Downing said.

Parents praised those actions while things are starting to get back to normal on the beach.

Beach goer Brittany Rice said she was watching over her sisters on Thursday and she's hoping the flasher won't be back.

“It'll be safer out here for the kids and we won't have to worry about anything,” Rice said.

Police said they are ramping up patrols the area of Anchor Beach and the neighborhood.

Regulars told Eyewitness News they've never seen this guy before this incident.

If you know anything about the incident or the suspect, you're urged to call the Milford Police Department at 203-878-6551.
