A former meteorologist with Channel 8 WTNH has been sentenced to prison following an investigation into child porn charges.

Justin Goldstein, 33 of Hamden, was arrested and is accused of being in possession of child pornography.

The investigation began in June, after video files of suspected child pornography were downloaded from the internet account assigned to Goldstein.

Arrest warrants show that on June 13, a member of the Connecticut State Police Computer Crime Electronic Evidence Laboratory located three video files connected to Goldstein.

The first file involved a man and a girl between the ages of 11 to 13 years old. The second file showed a man and girl between the ages of 5 and 8 years old. The third file showed a man and girl between the ages of 4 and 7 years old.

During their investigation, detectives seized two laptop computers, four USB drives, a cellphone and a camera from Goldstein's home.

Goldstein was not home when police arrived to execute the search warrant, but was located at his place of employment where he was taken into custody.

He was charged with promoting a minor in an obscene performance, and first-degree possession of child pornography.

WTNH General Manager Mark Higgins said Goldstein was suspended from his duties at the station, until the matter was resolved.

"We are deeply concerned by these allegations, " Higgins told Eyewitness News.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
