Police said they have released the identities of two people who died in a murder-suicide in Waterbury.

Officials said they responded to a reported disturbance at a home on Marion Avenue around 5 a.m. of Wednesday.

EMS found both people deceased.

Police said an autopsy determined that James Stuart, 40, of Waterbury, was murdered and Hallock Yocher, 37, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

They said Stuart suffered multiple gun shot wounds.

Yocher was a 10-year veteran of the Waterbury Police Department.

Yocher and Stuart were acquaintances but the extent of their relationship is unclear, according to officials.

Police said the deaths were an isolated incident and it is currently under investigation by State Police.
