Heat made fighting a brush fire in Haddam difficult for firefighters on Friday morning.
The brush fire started around 11:30 a.m. near Millers Pond state park. The fire chief said the fire was mostly on town-owned land.
There were about 65 firefighters fighting the fire. They were from Haddam, Killing worth, Durham, South District, Middletown, Westfield, Middlefield, Old Saybrook, Clinton, Essex, Chester, Madison and North Madison as well as Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection.
There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
