Fire crews in Berlin responded to Ragged Mountain for the report of a large brush fire on Monday afternoon.
The fire was reported at about 1:30 p.m. and is in the Southington section of the mountain, near the Berlin town line.

Multiple fire crews were responding to the fire.
Rain passed through the area on Monday afternoon, hopefully helping the firefighters.
The state's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the forest fire danger level was "high" on Monday.
Over the weekend, DEEP battled a massive forest fire in New Milford that burned in the Grove Street area from Saturday into Sunday.
DEEP investigators ask people to use common sense when the risk of brush fires is high, meaning even if you have a permit, do not burn brush on your property within 100 feet of grassland or woodland. If you see a forest fire, call 911.
