3 state parks closed because of high levels of bacteria

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Three state parks in Connecticut are closed for swimming, so state officials can re-sample the water after high levels of bacteria. 

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the following swimming areas were off limits on Wednesday:

  • Gardner Lake Salem Swimming Area Closed  
  • Squantz Pond S.P. New Fairfield Swimming Are Closed   
  • Wadsworth Falls S.P. Middlefield Swimming Are Closed 

DEEP officials will re-sample the water at those three parks later on Wednesday.
