PD: 15 arrested in Hartford drug operation

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hartford police said over a dozen people were arrested for selling and buying narcotics Wednesday.

Officials said detectives conducted surveillance of a drug operation in the area of Zion Street and York Street.

Officials said the surveillance was carried out following recent shootings in the area and complaints of drug deals.

Over 500 bags of heroin, 15 bags of crack cocaine and one gram of powdered cocaine were seized.

Police provided a list of the people arrested:

  • Stacy Layaw, 35, Tolland: possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Yaniel Cruz-Ortiz, 33, Hartford: possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Jonathon Walker, 36, Hartford: possession of narcotics
  • Gilberto Garcia, 34, Hartford: possession of narcotics
  • Marcia Amaral, 39, Hartford: possession of narcotics, prawns for creating public disturbance
  • Jeffrey Keaton, 57, Hartford: possession of narcotics
  • Jeffrey Swaine, 57, Hartford: possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass 3rd degree
  • Matthew Lafrance, 43, Newington: possession of narcotics, operating m/v without a license
  • Jorge Negron, 50, Hartford: possession of narcotics
  • Rick Haynes, 71, Hartford: possession of narcotics, sale of narcotics
  • Love Alston, 47, Hartford: criminal trespass 3rd degree
  • Frank Wilson, 61, Hartford: criminal trespass 3rd degree
  • Dwane Breedlove, 49, Hartford: criminal trespass 3rd degree
  • Robin Reddick, 35, Hartford: criminal trespass 3rd degree

A vehicle stolen during a robbery was also recovered, according to police.
