CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) -

The professionals may have gotten some practice rounds in, but Tuesday is all about family at the Travelers Championship.

The Farmington Bank Family Day features free golf activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the TPC River Highlands practice facility in Cromwell.

Vendors are on hand with putters, drivers and other golf equipment.

Expert instruction will also be available for golfers of all ages and skill levels, according to tournament officials.

Families can purchase any one day pass practice round tickets for access to Family Day.

Also Tuesday, the pros took on the 15 1/2 hole for charity, which tournament officials consider the toughest par 1.

Official play for the tournament kicks off on Thursday.

Before then, however, the celebrities will hit the links for both the celebrity pro-am and mini golf tournament.

Officials released the celebrity pairings on Tuesday, which include Chris Berman, Tim Wakefield and Doug Flutie with Ernie Els. They'll be teeing off at around 12:30 p.m.

The whole pro-am tees off at 6:50 a.m. with Bubba Watson and Bobby Bean, Justin DelVecchio and Mike Whitcraft.

Actor Luke Wilson and Wakefield, a former Boston Red Sox pitcher, will be hosting the Farmington Bank Celebrity mini golf tournament. It's set to kick off at the Kids Zone.

“We are grateful that all of the celebrities involved have taken time to participate in this fan-favorite competition,” said Nathan Grube, Travelers Championship Tournament Director “This competition can mean big money for a charity and gives fans a unique opportunity to watch their favorite local celebrities up close as they go head-to-head in a fun game of mini golf.”

A couple of waves of three-player teams will start at 9:30 a.m. They'll compete for a $2,500 donation to a charity of the winners' choice.

The tournament itself kicked off on Monday with its opening ceremonies.
