A sergeant for the Connecticut State Police was terminated from the department after several "disciplinary offenses."
The termination of Sgt. Michael Hassett, who was last assigned to Troop H, will become effective on Aug. 8.
Hassett violated the offenses for "failure to display the proper attitude and demeanor of an employee of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection," conduct that "reflects negatively on the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection," and "commission of an intentional act of deception during any criminal, civil or administrative investigation or proceeding."
