Travelers Championship defending champion Bubba Watson made his first appearance of the week at the TPC River Highlands on Tuesday.
Watson played the back nine through some rain on Tuesday morning and then stopped by for a press conference in afternoon.
Watson talked about his love the tournament where he's a two-time Travelers Championship defending winner. The wins have propelled him to his ranking as one of the top 25 players in the world and a member of the upcoming U.S. Olympic Team.
Watson said he will be leaving for the Rio on Sunday night right after the final round of this tournament.
Watson said he's getting extremely excited about playing for his country and being able to soak up the Olympic experience by taking in several events when he's not on the course. Watson, even said, he bought tickets to those Olympic events just like the regular member of the public and is getting no special treatment.
Watson will also play in the Pro-Am on Wednesday morning. He’s scheduled to tee off at 6:50 a.m.
