A former middle school teacher accused of having inappropriate contact with a New Britain High School student is scheduled to face a judge.
Kelsey Cabral, a former teacher at Slade Middle School, was arrested last month, according to police.
Superintendent Nancy Sarra said school officials informed police of the allegations back in May.
Cabral was placed on administrative leave as the school system began an internal investigation.
Sarra said Cabral submitted his resignation while he was on leave.
She said he's no longer an employee of the Consolidated School District of New Britain.
Cabral is free on bond.
He's scheduled to face a judge in New Britain.
