CLINTON, CT (WFSB) -

Police have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 in Clinton on Thursday afternoon.

Naugatuck resident Glenn Papcun, 56, was riding his 2001 Harley Davidson Fxstsi northbound on I-95 when police said he started "heavy braking" and veered into the breakdown lane. Police said Papcun crashed into a metal beam guard rail and was thrown from his motorcycle.

Police said Papcun landed in a grassy area on the other side of the guard rail.

Papcun died at the scene after injuries suffered in the crash, police said.

After the crash, police said the Harley Davidson Fxstsi kept going and struck the jersey barrier in the center median.

The crash is under investigation by state police. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 860-399-2100.
