St. Francis Hospital is providing a mobile medical unit on the golf course at the Travelers Championship this week.
The hospital has paramedics on site as well as a doctor who can travel around the course.
"We bring a mini emergency type set up. We can deal with cardiac, respiratory blisters and so forth," John Quinlavin, who is a manager of EMS services at Saint Francis, said. "We take care of a lot of dehydration. People, who don't drink enough water, it becomes a small community so we handle it all right here."
Fully equipped golf carts and segways are prepared to treat patients for cardiac and respiratory issues and dehydration. There is even a dispatch center and an eight bed treatment facility.
As of Friday, 300 patients have been treated.
