Federal authorities say a man arrested in Connecticut is wanted by Massachusetts police for questioning in connection with the killing of his 19-year-old daughter.
The U.S. Marshals Service says Walter DaSilva of Danbury was arrested Friday in Bridgeport.
He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and violating probation in connection with a 2002 conviction for attempting to murder his daughter's mother in Weston, Massachusetts.
DaSilva's daughter, Sabrina DaSilva, was shot to death July 3 outside her home in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She was attending Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts.
U.S. marshals say Walter DaSilva is a Brazilian citizen and his immigration status is in question.
DaSilva is detained on $500,000 bail pending an extradition hearing Monday in Bridgeport. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
