A man from Baltic is accused of selling heroin in the Sprague area.
Investigators said Tomas Ortiz, 53, was arrested after an investigation that began several months ago.
The Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force, which consists of detectives from state police, Norwich police, Groton City police, New London police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, developed Ortiz as a suspect.
Detectives were granted an arrest warrant, which was served on Monday.
He was charged with two counts of selling heroin and scheduled to face a judge on Tuesday in Norwich.
Ortiz's bond was set at $150,000.
The task force said that anyone who has, or may think they have, information about the sale of illegal drugs is urged to contact it at 860-442-9491 or text "TIP711" with the information to 274637.
