LEDYARD, CT (WFSB) -

A power outage impacted the Ledyard Police Department phone lines on Tuesday afternoon, however they are back up and running.

The department posted to social media to inform people about the issue, telling them to call 860-464-8225 for routine calls, and as always, call 911 for emergencies.

A large power outage was reported in the area, that impacted the towns of Groton, Ledyard, Mystic, Stonington and North Stonington.

Eversource officials said there were power lines down in two areas of southeastern Connecticut, and power was out for at least an hour.

As of about 4:30 p.m. there were only about 120 outages being reported.

The cause of one of the outages was a tree fell onto power lines.
