MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

After receiving a complaint, police in Milford said they arrested a woman for leaving pets at a home she abandoned.

Police said they charged Temisa Fossett, 45, of Naugatuck.

They said the animals were found in a home being abandoned at 92 Mayflower Pl. in Milford.

They first received a complaint about the situation on July 27.

Five animals were left behind at the home, including two dogs that needed to be euthanized due to poor health, according to police.

Fossett was charged with five counts of cruelty to animals.

She was released on a promise to appear in Milford Superior Court on Sept. 6.
