FAIRFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Despite the intense heat, supporters have been lined up to see Republican Presidential nominee, Donald Trump at his fourth Connecticut rally since he won the Republican primary in April.

Doors at the William H. Pitt Health and Recreation Center at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield opened at 4:30pm, but crowds of supporters began the line up at 10:30 a.m.

"I missed him in Waterbury a couple of months ago,” said Torrington resident, Nick Simonin.

“I wanted to come up here nice and early, get in the front of the line and that's exactly what we got,” said Simonin.

Free tickets to the event were available online when Trump made the announcement that Fairfield would be a campaign stop on Thursday afternoon.

"It’s nice to be here part of the action, with fellow, like minded citizens who love this country and really want him to get elected," said Miami Beach, Florida resident Andrea Poznar.

Fairfield is the fourth stop on Trump’s campaign trail following Hartford, Waterbury and Bridgeport, leading many to believe that the campaign has its eyes set on winning Connecticut come November – a typically blue state.

"I want to see a real person.  He may be a real person, maybe a billionaire, but he thinks like we do,” said Hamden resident, Joseph Livi.

Trump’s arrival to Fairfield brings its fair amount of supports, as well as, protestors. Rallies against Trump’s presidential run have lined up as early as the supporters.

“He just wants to be fair,” said Livi.
