MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police are investigating a homicide after a "middle-aged" man's body was found at an apartment complex in Meriden last week.

Officers were called to 55 Willow St. on Thursday after family members said they discovered the body of Felix Rodriguez at Willow Towers.

"I alert the people to tell them not to let anyone in their apartments and it's sad that something happened like that," said Justo Matis, of Meriden.

Police did not release many details, but said Rodriguez's death is being investigated as a "homicide."

Adrian Ibarrondo knew the victim, and said he was in his 50s and kept to himself. He said he just moved into the North Tower this summer.

“He was a friend of mine. He used to go to my house and barbecue and stuff like that,” Ibarrondo said, adding that he just saw the victim. “Saw him outside and talked to him for a while and after that I went inside, left and he was still outside, said goodbye and I got a call that he Felix got killed.”

Now he said he’s worried about everyone’s safety.

“If it's going to be like that they should have security guards in the building, they have no security guards in this building,” Ibarrondo said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Meriden Police Department at 203-630-6334.
