STONIGNTON, CT (WFSB) -

No one was injured in the Pawcatuck section of Stonington on Wednesday morning as several fire departments battled a garage fire.

The fire was reported at a two-story garage/barn at 464 Green Haven Rd. around 9:30 a.m.

Pawcatuck Fire Chief Edward Dennett said they had initial concerns when first responders heard ammunition exploding.

"It was stored up there we had no issue with ammo at all," Dennett said. "It was minimal we hit that we knew where it was and just wet it down it was fine."

The fire closed Green Haven Road for a short time during the investigation.

The cause of the fire has not been determined by officials. The investigation will be performed by the local fire marshal's office.
