STAMFORD, CT (AP) -

Stamford officials are considering a potential overhaul of the city's regulations for food trucks and other mobile vendors.

The Board of Representatives' Public Safety and Health Committee is scheduled to discuss a draft ordinance outlining the proposed regulations at a meeting Thursday night.

The ordinance calls for the establishment of a Food Truck Committee, which would be comprised of Stamford's police chief, customer service supervisor, director of health and other officials. The committee would be authorized to impose rules on where food cart vendors could set up shop.

Board member Matt Quinones says the number one concern regarding food trucks is pedestrian safety.

Quinones says the board is seeking input from food truck vendors on how the proposed regulations would affect their business.
