Stamford police said a driver involved in the collision that killed a bicyclist has been arrested.
Officials said on May 10 Jerry Bastien, 28, of Stamford was driving a Toyota minivan on Tresser Boulevard.
Abdul Aziz, 72, of Stamford, was attempting to bike across the street.
Police said the bicycle struck the passenger side of the car and Aziz fell onto the pavement.
He had a severe head injury and died on May 10 as a result of the injury.
Officials said surveillance video, witness statements and other evidence showed Bastien had been on his cell phone at the time.
Bastien was charged with using a hand-held mobile phone by a motor vehicle operator.
He is expected to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 31.
