Environmental officials announced on Friday that one state park swimming area is closed due to high levels of bacteria.
The closure affects the Squantz Pond swimming area in New Fairfield, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Officials said the water contained high levels of indicator bacteria after tests.
The water will be tested again.
They said the bacteria is not pathogen-carrying, but is a tool used to measure for potential contamination.
