PUTNAM, CT (WFSB) -
A shooting in Putnam left one person shot on Monday night, according to state police.
Troopers said it happened in the area of 58 Pomfret St.
When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Day Kimball Hospital and later flown to UMass General hospital by the Life Star emergency helicopter.
The address is part of the Cargill Falls Mill, a historic mill that the town said was converted into lofts. Part of the building is being renovated and it appears, there is some kind of antique business on the bottom floor.
However, investigators told Eyewitness News that they're focusing on an abandoned building.
They said they believed this to be an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing detectives and several cruisers on the scene. Investigators were on scene for 24 hours and left around 11 a.m.
The man's condition has not been released.
No other details were released by either state police or Putnam police.
Eyewitness News has a crew on the scene. See photos from it here.
