Police search for suspect wanted for armed robbery of Windsor bank

WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

The Windsor Police Department is asking for the public's help locating the man responsible for a bank robbery on Tuesday morning.

The robbery took place at the Santander Bank, which is located at 578 Windsor Ave., around 9 a.m. Police said an unidentified man, who implied he was armed, entered the bank and demanded money. 

The man fled the scene on foot with an "undetermined amount of money," police said. 

Moments before the robbery, police said they saw a man "riding a small BMX style bicycle north on Windsor Avenue from the Windsor Shopping Center."

The suspect is being described as clean shaven, Mid 50’s to mid-60’s, 5’8” to 6' and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. Police said he was wearing a tan polo style shirt with white T-shirt beneath, blue ball cap no logo, dark jeans, dark sneakers with white sole as well as bluish green towel around his neck.
