Waffle lovers unite!
Wednesday is National Waffle Day.
According to study by cheese and butter maker Finlandia, 76 percent of Americans like waffles.
Eighty percent of those Americans like to put butter on them.
When breaking down the results further, Finlandia said women tend to like waffles more than men. In fact, 80 percent of women like them compared to 69 percent of men.
In terms of age, older folks tend to like them more than younger folks. According to the data, 89 percent of people ages 65 and up like waffles compared to 72 percent of people ages 25 to 34.
According to the website NationalDayCalendar.com, the first U.S. patent for a waffle iron was issued on Aug. 24, 1869.
