Don't look for any leniency in Connecticut if you're a high risk driver.
The personal finance website WalletHub ranked the state as one of the strictest in the country.
It put Connecticut as 12th on its list.
WalletHub said it looked at a number of categories to assess how tough states are on driving under the influence, speeding and reckless driving. It also looked at the corresponding insurance cost increases.
Here's where the state fell in each of the study's metrics:
DUI criminal penalties rank: 8.
DU prevention rank: 10.
Speeding enforcement rank: 32.
Reckless driving penalties rank: 28.
Arizona, Alaska and Georgia were the top three strictest, according to the study. See how all the stricter states rank here.
North Dakota, Pennsylvania and South Dakota were the most lenient, respectively.
