One person died after a motor vehicle crash on Route 10 in Simsbury on Wednesday morning.
The crash was reported in front of 282 Hopmeadow Street. Police said the vehicle went off the road and crashed into a large tree.
The driver was rushed to St. Francis Hospital by the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association. The driver later died from injuries suffered in the crash.
The Life Star medical helicopter was initially called, but was later canceled by authorities.

The name of the driver will not be released until the family is informed of the death.
Police said Route 10 was closed between Route 185 and Riverwalk Condominiums. Police said Route 10 just south of Route 185 reopened around 12:40 p.m.

The cause of crash is under investigation by members of the Simsbury Police Department.
