Man stopped for traffic violation found to have drugs, including oxycodone hidden in groin

A traffic stop in Plainfield led to the arrest of a man on drug charges.

Police said the stopped a vehicle driven by Brandon Mazuraitis, 23, in the area of Railroad Avenue Saturday around 8 p.m.

During the stop and investigation, Mazuraitis was found to be in possession of 330 bags of heroin and $2,000 in cash, police said.

He also had less than a half ounce of marijuana and an air pistol, according to investigators.

Once back at the station, police said they discovered 30mg of oxycodone hidden in his groin area.

Mazuraitis was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, possession within 1,500 feet of a school, possession with intent to sell near a school, failure to keep narcotics in their original container, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, weapon in a motor vehicle, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to have a stop lamp.

The suspect was able to post his bond.

He is scheduled to face a judge in Danielson Superior Court on Sept. 6.
