NORTH STONINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

An 18-year Connecticut State Police veteran has been suspended after being arrested on Friday.

Police have charged 43-year-old David Greene, of North Stonington, with first-degree threatening.

Greene allegedly threatened a woman, according to a police report.

The woman told state police that Greene and her "had returned from an event" and he "made statements that made the victim fear for her safety." Police said Greene was in possession of a firearm at the time of the alleged threats. 

Greene appeared in court on Monday.
