16-year-old boy injured in Cheshire crash

CHESHIRE, CT (WFSB) -

A 16-year-old boy was struck by a motor vehicle in Cheshire on Monday evening.

The unidentified Cheshire teen was hit by a vehicle while crossing Higgins Road. Police said he left the sidewalk at the intersection with Sorghum Mill Drive. 

The pedestrian was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Police said the teen "incurred several broken bones and internal injuries."

No one in the motor vehicle reported injuries to police. 

Police said the crash is "subject to review by Meriden Superior Court in regards to possible charges." The Cheshire Police Department Traffic Division is investigating a crash and authorities said the investigation is "ongoing" at this time.
