Following Norovirus outbreaks and other food contamination reports at a popular burrito restaurant, the business is hoping to lure customers back with an assortment of freebies.

Chipotle said students heading back to school can enjoy free fountain drinks or iced tea with the purchase of a burrito, bowl, order of tacos or a salad.

However, they must present a valid student ID.

Valid IDs can include the following documentation which would identify the customer as a student:

  • High school
  • Community college
  • University

The offer is limited to one drink per customer and excludes bottled drinks, beer and margaritas.

Chipotle said it must be redeemed at the same time the meal purchase is made.

More information on the offer can be found on its website here.

The drinks are the only freebie being offered.

Every Sunday in September, children under 12 can eat for free with the purchase of a burrito, bowl, tacos order or salad.

The kids meal comes with a "Dragons Love Tacos" activity sheet.

Like the drinks with students, this offer must be redeemed at the same time in a single visit. It also doesn't apply to catering orders and can't be combined with other offers.
