Diamond Nuts have been removed from the shelves of Stop & Shop following a recall.

The supermarket chain said Snyder's Lance, Inc. issued the recall due to potential salmonella contamination.

Stop & Shop said the recall includes the following products:

  • Diamond Macadamia Halves & Pieces, 2.25 oz, UPC 7045074391 with lot numbers 16137D331S and 16159D331S and "Best Before Dates" of 16 NOV 2017 and 07 DEC 2017.
  • Diamond Chopped Macadamia Nuts, 2.25 oz, UPC 7045074391 with lot numbers 16137D331S and 16159D331S and "Best Before Dates" of 16 NOV 2017 and 07 DEC 2017.

Customers who have bought the products can bring their purchase receipt back to the store for a full refund.

The supermarket said it has received no reports of illnesses as of Friday.

It said salmonella bacterial infections can be life-threatening, especially to those with weak immune systems such as infants and the elderly.

Symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within eight to 72 hours.
