Newtown police said they arrested a man who made a threatening phone call to Sandy Hook Elementary School last month.
Officials said on August 15 the school received a call from a man who asked when the first day of school was.
After he was told the date, he made a threat against the school for that day.
Officials said the call was made through a mobile phone company in Canada.
After a lengthy investigation, police identified the caller as Pierre Beauvil, 28, of Stamford.
He was arrested and charged with breach of peace, 2nd degree harassment and 1st degree threatening.
Officials said they investigating whether Beauvil is responsible for a number of other threats made against schools.
