ROCKY HILL, CT (WFSB) -

Rocky Hill police said they rescued a young hawk Saturday.

A resident reported an injured hawk on Gilbert Avenue near Silo Drive.

Animal control said they retrieved the hawk from the road and transported them to a rehabilitation center in Killingworth.

They said the hawk was malnourished and would have died without intervention.

The hawk is expected to survive and will eventually be returned back into the wild.
