Firefighters from multiple departments were called to a fire in Colchester on Saturday night.
The fire was reported at 42 Mill St. around 10:15 p.m.
One person was taken to an area hospital via LIFE STAR medical helicopter to a burn center. The condition of that person was not released by authorities.
However, while crews were searching the structure, firefighters said "one of the occupants did not make it out and was deceased."
State police from the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit responded to the scene and are investigating. An autopsy will also be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
