BRANFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Emergency officials said they pulled a woman and her dogs from a fiery crash on Monday night.

The police and fire departments said they responded to the crash on Blackstone Avenue just after 6:30 p.m.

They said Katarina Russell-Agrell, 69, of Guilford, told them she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a tree.

Paramedics treated Russell-Agrell for a leg injury and was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Police said animal control officers had to take custody of three dogs who were also in the vehicle. One had to be treated for minor injuries.

Russell-Agrell was cited for failing to drive right.
