TOLLAND, CT (WFSB) -

Troopers made three arrests and discovered several forged credit cards during a traffic stop in Tolland on Sunday morning.

A red Hyundai Sonata was traveling “at an excessive speed” on Interstate 84 in Tolland around 7:45 a.m., police said.

When troopers stopped the vehicle, police said “troopers detected several indicators of criminal activity.” Troopers said they felt one of the passengers gave them a “false name.”

While searching the vehicle, police said they seized “30 fraudulent credit cards with various names on them” as well as multiple gift cards and about $800.

Police said the people inside the Sonata “were involved in an elaborate credit card fraud scheme.”

Police charged 30-year-old Oscar Grant, 26-year-old Amanda Lopez and 23-year-old Marquis Simpson with unlawful completion/reproduction of credit card, conspiracy and illegal use of credit card.

All three were being held on a $15,000 bond. They will be arraigned at Rockville Superior Court on Monday.
