WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

It was a fight over a baseball hat between some students, but now Waterbury schools are tightening up security after four students got into trouble at a football jamboree.

The school hosts the football jamboree every year.

Last Friday was supposed to be an exciting start to the season at Crosby High School, as the school has a new field and stadium...which brought out a big crowd of over 2,000 people.

But then a fight happened, over a baseball hat.

“I heard that there was a fight and I heard it was recorded but I didn't see the video,” said Waterbury student Mark Falero.

A total of four Waterbury students were involved - one is a Crosby high schooler. There were no weapons involved, but the fight prompted school officials to take a closer look at security on Tuesday.

There were seven police officers already at the football field during the jamboree, which involved a total of five high schools.

Police called for back-up when the fight broke out, as they didn’t know how big it would get.

School officials said they will review entrances and exits, as one was open at the time. They plan to have someone guard it at the next game.

It is unclear if the students involved will be suspended.
