Police identify people killed in weekend crash

Police have identified the three people killed in a motor vehicle crash in Danbury on Saturday morning. 

Investigators said 36-year-old Nelson Osegueda, 31-year-old Raymond Rivera and 30-year-old Waner Nunez died in the crash on Mill Plain Road, which is also known as Route 202, around 5 a.m. 

The crash which appears to have been the result of a pursuit that began in New York state. The pursuing officer, a Putnam County, NY Sheriff was breaking off his pursuit after crossing the state line. However, Danbury officials said the vehicle continued a high-rate of speed, lost control and crashed on Route 202 in Danbury.

Police said 34-year-old Beatrice Grajales and 23-year-old Elena Albarran were admitted to Danbury Hospital. Their conditions were not released by police on Tuesday. 

All five people involved in the crash were Danbury residents. 

Police said Rivera was driving the vehicle involved in the crash. 

The pursuit began in the boarder town of Brewster, New York, police said. A Putnam County Sheriff attempted to pull the vehicle over when it was seen swerving. Officials said they believe the driver was intoxicated.
