Hamden police seek convenience store thief

HAMDEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Hamden said they're looking for a man who stole cash from a convenience store.

They said it happened at the 7-Eleven, 1795 Dixwell Ave., around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said their investigation revealed that the man approached the cash register with a bottle of water.

As the clerk opened the register, the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed an unknown amount of money.

Police described him as being about 50 years old, standing 6'1" tall and having a tattoo on his right forearm. He also wore a Red Sox baseball cap.

He fled in a dark-colored SUV.
