Police in New Britain said they believe they have found the body of a missing woman.

Janet Caraballo, 37, was last seen on Thursday around 7:45 p.m.

An employee of The Hospital of Central Connecticut, police said Caraballo left work under "suspicious circumstances."

According to a report filed at the time of her disappearance, Carabello left her cell phone, purse and other personal belongings at work and got in her boyfriend's car, which then drove away.

Police said they found the remains of a woman they believe to be Caraballo around 2 p.m. They said the woman appears to have died from stab wounds.

The body of her boyfriend Luis Rodriguez, 46, was found at a home on Kensington Avenue around 1 a.m.

Officials said they believe the two deaths appear to be a domestic murder-suicide.

“This is extremely tragic news. We offer our sincerest condolences to Janet’s family, friends and loved ones,” said a spokesperson for Hartford Healthcare

The hospital would not comment on the investigation. Police said they may have more information at a later time.
