I-95 in Old Saybrook reopens after sausage spill

OLD SAYBROOK, CT (WFSB) -

A truck accident in Old Saybrook caused delays along a stretch of Interstate 95 Wednesday morning. 

According to state police, a box truck carrying frozen sausages collided with a tractor trailer and overturned.

Troopers said the crash happened north of exit 67 in the northbound lanes.

Police said the northbound side near exit 67 was closed as they worked to clear the accident. It has since reopened.

A Department of Transportation construction vehicle was called in to assist with the removal of the frozen sausage.

The Department of Consumer Protection also responded to the scene. 

Police said minor injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
